EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Do you have a Employee Assistance Program (EAP)? What is a Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a worksite-based program designed to assist in the identification and resolution of productivity problems associated with employees impaired by personal concerns, including, but not limited to: health, martial, family, financial, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional, stress, or other personal concerns that may adversely affect employee job performance. This also includes confidential, appropriate and timely services and referrals and follow-up services to health care providers when appropriate.
Cost: It does not cost you anything Confidentiality: Services you receive from the EAP are protected by Federal and State laws. It may be released only with your approval.
Participation: Participation in the EAP will not jeopardize your job. However, it will not protect you from disciplinary action if you are referred to the program because of substandard job performance.
EAP Services: If your Employer does not have a participating Employee Assistance Program. There is a Employee Assistance Program available thru the New York State AFL-CIO.
